As a Vietnam veteran's daughter, Dr. Kellie knew serving in the military would be a part of her life. After earning her commission from the Lincoln University Reserve Officer Training Corps program, Dr. Kellie joined the Army as a maintenance officer. She was fortunate to serve at various state-side and overseas locations, including being assigned to the Pentagon after 9/11. After learning that both she and her husband may deploy at the same time, Dr. Kellie made the difficult decision to leave the Army after 11 years of service. She went on to earn her doctorate degree in Organizational Leadership from Grand Canyon University
